GOD'S NAVY

Eight canoes, a water-logged Bible, and three hours on the Youghougheny River.

Does it get any better than this?  We don't think so.

Setting off from... well, wherever the van dropped us off.  Dawson, I think.  Front boat: Renee, Mitchell and Bud Allen.  Bud's saying something.  I wasn't listening.

The Grand Fleet in tight formation.

Jesus didn't need a canoe.  Neither does Ben Neff (background).  In front is Levi Gibson, walking on solid ground.

You knew this was going to happen sooner or later.  That's Kayla Knight in the water, with Gary and Jodi Gatts in the boat.

Ben Neff, pulling his own weight.  His mother Kim is in the rear.  For some reason, Ben's in almost every shot we took.

Nannette and Lincoln Gibson disembark at the halfway point.  We read Psalm 148, talked about why God made us, and ate potato chips.  All in all, it was a good time.

The end of the line.  Jodi Gatts turns in her paddles and jacket.
